Martin Kršák, MD, MSc, FASAM

Martin Krsak is an independent consultant in Addiction Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine with a leaning toward integrative medicine. He also serves as a volunteer Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and as an Associate Editor for Therapeutic Advances in Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Krsak has been involved with ketamine-assisted therapy (KAT) research over the course of 2024 and 2025, and completed a KAT and psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) training through Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI). He hopes to further research the utility of ketamine and psychedelics in the treatment of substance use disorders. He is further interested in clinical research study design, data curation and analysis more broadly and his additional specific areas of scientific interest include broader utilization of telemedicine and long-acting medications healthcare.

Before coming to Colorado, he served as a clinical faculty in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Addiction Medicine for Tufts University School of Medicine. At the time, he practiced at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, a Department of Public Health hospital serving indigent, incarcerated, marginalized and substance misusing populations.

Martin Krsak grew up in Slovakia (former Czechoslovakia) and received his M.D. at Jessenius Medical Faculty, Comenius University in Martin, Slovakia. He completed internal medicine residency at Caritas (then Steward) Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA (a Tufts University affiliate), and his infectious diseases training at the Tufts University ID fellowship program (Tufts Medical Center, Lahey Hospital and Lemuel Shattuck Hospital). At Tufts, he completed his M.Sc. in Clinical and Translational Medical Science, and continues his education as a student of M.B.A. at the University of Colorado in Denver (expected graduation - 12/2025).
